The Week in Review/Computers-3, Ashley-0

Last week was an interesting week. Continue reading for exclusive details.

Monday:
I saw Chelsea Clinton on campus. Not that I support her mother, but I thought it was neat to see someone who is involved in the election stuff in real life. Then I went back to the parking garage and I had a parking ticket because I had neglected to put my parking tag back up. I spent the night at home, doing laundry and playing Guitar Hero III.

Tuesday:
Nothing really stands out to me about this day. I went to class and work.

Wednesday:
My computer died. After class I went to check my email and it froze. So I restarted it and it wouldn't load Windows. After consulting Josh, who sheepishly admitted he knows nothing about computers, but puts on airs like he does, I decided to call Circuit City, where I purchased the computer last March. Circuit City told me to call the manufacturer, since it was still under warranty. While on the phone with a friendly tech support guy, who was walking me through a system restore, I plugged in my cell phone charger and it split into two pieces in my hand. (Note: Here I start to lose it a bit.) I began laughing hysterically and told the tech guy what happened and remarked, "I shouldn't touch anymore electronics today," to which he replied, "I'd say." Well it seemed like the system restore had taken care of the problem, so happily, I left the updates installing and headed to work.

I returned to find my computer needing to be restarted so it could configure the 59 updates it had installed. It froze during the configuration. About this time, I was beginning to accept the inevitable.

Thursday:
The ol' gal wouldn't even turn on. No lights, no computer noises, nothing. I called tech support again and the douche bag had the audacity to ask me if it was plugged into the wall. (In his defense, I'm sure he deals with realllll morons all the time.) It was determined that my computer would have to be sent to the repair facility. So I went to class, then went to UPS to mail my computer. (Note: I was really bummed. And really bored.)

Friday:
With no computer, I found myself to be extremely efficient. I cleaned my bathroom, organized my kitchen, and went to Target. I played with Lucy. I watched a movie on TV. Then I went out to dinner with some friends.

Saturday:
I headed to Rolla. I arrived at about 9:30ish. Josh and I worked on the canoe, went out to dinner and went to Wal-Mart. We watched some TV, played some Wii and went to bed.

Sunday:
We got up and made a brisket, made and iced some cupcakes, cleaned, and then hit the gym for a little bit. (Note: I am impressed at this amount of productivity for a Sunday in Rolla.) I got Netflix, we watched the Superbowl, we watched some more movies, then we went to sleep.

Well, I'm sure if I had written my computer crashing post on Thursday it would have been more humorous. It was a strange week, and I'm really glad it's over. Now I better get to tackling my to-do list for this week.

You and Josh and WAY to productive now. It bums me out. I'm not so convinced that Josh2.0 is a good thing yet.
