I made it to Christmas break. I can't really believe that fall semester is over already and that 2008 is almost over. I think that time has flown! But I guess that's what happens when you are having fun.
My break has been pretty laid back. I've been working and spending time with my family. My mom has only minimally decorated for Christmas, which honestly is okay with me. My brother and I have yet to purchase our parents Christmas gift, which could get really interesting considering that there aren't many places to shop in our small home town.
My mom and I braved the crowds last Saturday and made it St. Louis to shop. My online obsession with Sephora manifested itself in reality that day, since the Chesterfield Mall is lucky enough to have a Sephora store. Not that I really wear that much makeup or fragrance, I just really like to look at it all. I could probably spend hours in that place just looking and smelling and touching all of the stuff. It was somewhat of a religious experience for me, and I am already planning when I can go back!
The next week is devoted to hard-core family time. I'll be going to one of my favorite places on earth (Cantril, IA) this weekend to see some of my most favorite people (aunts, uncles, cousins, Grandma). Unfortunately, I will have to leave my most favorite dog at the kennel. Which reminds me, by the way, Lucille is loving being back at my parents house. They spoil her by feeding her all kinds of people food and she gets to play with their dog Ralph.
Now I think I'll go eat some lunch with my brother, if I can tear him away from COD. That's the other thing about being back home. With my room next to his, I perpetually hear gunshots, war noises, heavy metal and him cursing while he "pwns noobs". He let me play a couple of days ago and I killed 6 people, but he told me that my kills to deaths ratio was still negative and needed improvement.
Merry Christmas! I'll see some you guys really soon and I am looking forward to it!
