I don't see nothing wroooonnng.... with a little recap of Adventure Week

Well, it started out as any other week, but by the end of it, it would become legendary: Adventure Week 2008. I must admit, for the first Adventure Week it was well organized and just plain awesome. I will also admit that Adventure Week was most notably the brain child of fellow classmate Alex, but I feel like many people picked it up, embraced it, and ran with it.

Disclaimer: I will only blog about the GOOD things that happened over Adventure Week. There were a lot of highs and lows, and I'd rather just recap the highs.

Tuesday: In order to blow off some steam, I joined some classmates on a trip to the casino. Half a pack of Marlboro Lights and several hours invested at the penny slots, I came out ahead by $60. Adele also enjoyed half a pack of Marlboro Lights and several hours at the penny slots, but she was not so lucky. I also ended up awake until 2 AM with a nicotine buzz. The next morning my tongue felt like it was wearing a sweater.

Wednesday: Certain events caused me to meet up with some classmates at our bar that features karaoke on Wednesday nights. I downed a few drinks/shots, Alex let me smoke his cloves, and then Lucas and I brought the house down singing "Dixie Land Delight." I'd like to point out that our duet was nothing compared to Bunge's rendition of R. Kelly's "Bump 'n Grind." I ended the evening back at my apartment, laying in the shower.

Thursday: After un-hang overing myself with my secret concoction (half and half: ibuprofen and pepto bismol), I was up and at 'em. Josh arrived later this day. He donated plasma and then we feasted on Chipotle. I had an 8:00 pm volleyball game at a local bar, so we missed The Office. The ACE Inhibitors won the game to bring our record to 2-3. The rest of the evening was a blur of Long Islands, Miller Lite's and fish bowls. Alex tried to smoke his cloves around me, but I insisted that I must be up-wind from him. (The previous night's clove smoking experience had left me sensitive to their smell. And I think potpourri is pretty much ruined for me as well.)

Friday: This day brought comedy at Deja Vu and a Dave sighting. The comedian was okay, but afterwards it was cold and I was pretty tired, so we ended up calling it a night. Oh, there was also a Wal-Mart trip and Josh made his own hummus. I guess I should also mention that some members of my class ended Adventure Week at Casino Night in Kansas City. From pictures on facebook, it looked like everyone had a grrrreat time!

Saturday: The end of Adventure Week '08. I was thinking that my adventures were over for the week, but was proved wrong when we met Dave and Adele at Chuck E. Cheese for lunch. Not only did we indulge in pizza, but we indulged in our inner child. I was hitting the skee ball pretty hard and was feeling pretty good about my ticket pile, until Josh hit the jackpot on some game where you traced something with your finger. Damn his hands of a surgeon! He ended up with Fun Dip as his prize and I got a crappy 4-in-a-row game. We didn't do much the rest of the day; just some Wii playing and candy eating.
**edit: Josh wanted me to clarify that the finger tracing game is "Flaming Finger." Also, he says, "FLAME ON!"

In the end, Adventure Week '08 was an experience. I was out of control. I was in rare form. I tapped into some unknown part of myself. I surprised everyone. And I did it my way.

I'm so glad I could help a little at ringing in adventure week 2008. Had I known in advance, I would have worked harder at being obnoxious. For the record,

Chuck E Cheese official score:

Josh - 194 - leader
Ashley - 163
Dave - 161
Adele - 83
